These Seats

theseseatsIf you watch Chelsea Handler at all, you might have seen her discuss these seats the other night.

You’ll notice the blue seat and how wide it is. So what’s that seat for?

It’s for “obese” people.

Now, I ask you this: If  you had extra weight on you that prevented you from sitting comfortably in a chair…would you sit here? As if you’re not already self conscious about your weight, would you want to park your ass in a bright blue chair?

Do the makers of this seat think that people are too stupid to already notice that the chair is super wide? I mean really, why not aim a spotlight directly over head. Maybe put an alarm there too in case someone under the correct weight range sits in it by mistake?

It’s like the handicapped parking spots.  Tell me that you don’t whisper something under your breath when you see some healthy mobile person park in one of those spots, hop out of their car and sprint right into a store.

Who’s going to use these seats? Some dopey woman hauling 3 Bloomingdale bags or toting around 2 children. This one is right up there with the “expecting women” parking spots.  Something that will get used by everyone except for who it’s intended for.

    LOL!!! the expected mom spaces are my pet peeves… when i was prego with #3.. i parked two rows down and watched this big fat guy park in the space.. i still luagh thinking about it..i dont know why…

    I am guilty of the expectant mom fraud here. I admit it. But bloating and pms should be worth something in a parking lot!!

    They could at least make the chair white, talk about making one feel more stigmatized for their weight. And I HATE when people use spots that are NOT meant for them. Especially handicap spaces, I don’t just mutter under my breath either. I get all uppity.

    I love the expectant mom parking and would do anything for moms with more than one child under 3 parking too! Even if it was far away and all stores kept carts out there with big spots for mini vans and cart returns always stocked with those 2 seater driving carts. And yes, that chair looks great for me and my 2 kids. They hate sitting in separate chairs on the metro.
