Skip Dust Bunnies
Once upon a time, there was a
,
who scratched and clawed and dug under a
.
The mom and the dad shoo’d the dog away repeatedly in fear he would rip it. The dog was insistent, so the mom reached her hand under to see what was there, but nothing was found. The dad distracted the dog with a dog bone, and there was peace in the land.
The next day a very silly

with very small hands, was eating some candy while rolling around on the floor in front of the sofa. The mom realized that although he had eaten two lollipops there was not a wrapper in sight.
“Hmmm” said the mom. “Dad will you help me lift the
?”
Magically the answer to the dog’s scratching, digging and chewing appeared.
Some
and
and
as well as,
a chewed up pencil, an empty Reese’s wrapper, a Nintendo DS game, two AA batteries and a chocolate chip cookie.
There is an elf in my house who slides these things under the sofa, because oddly enough, even with evidence present, no one will own up to sliding these under there in the first place. (Now WHO could have done this?)
The End.

Dogs have the best sense of smell!! I wonder which of these trick or treats that he wanted the most?

He keeps digging between the cushions too, and even after taking it all apart, I can’t find out what he’s after. My guess is the chewed up pencil. They are a frequent delicacy for him around here.

I can identify the culprit-the famous Mr. “I don’t know.” He is so elusive. Thank you for ending my evening with a chuckle!

Ha! I just cleaned a few (hundred) bits of refuse from under our couch while looking for a wayward toy. Cereal, crackers, crayons, magazines, laundry sheets…but no Thomas the train. I understand how he could get lost under there though. It’s a jungle

It’s amazing what one can find under a sofa.
Just last week I found a banana, $4.00 in dimes, and something I could not identify.

My dog once stole my purse and ran outside with it. It was a female dog I might add or more appropriately, a bitch.

Found your blog through They Call Me Jane.
This was really funny. I have two nephews who do the same thing. It’s really bad when there are two of them, because with one, you know who did it. With two, they’re on the same team, and they rarely rat the other one out in situations like this.

He tries to blame things on the dog. It’s pretty funny. Sometimes I let him think I’m buying that story.

My couch is like a garbage disposal. The cushions eat whatever falls out of my pockets, and the underside magically sucks up nearby debris. Something missing? Look under the couch. Funny smell? Look under the couch. Ahhh and it will be even worse once my little one discovers how perfect the underside of the couch is for hiding little treasures…
