Pour Me a Martini

I had a crap day! 

helpI worked for a client today that thinks he knows my job better than I do. As a website designer there is nothing worse than hearing “It only takes an hour or so to put up a website.”

Dude? You try it.

There is a reason that a good website can cost thousands of dollars. At least when it’s done by people that give a shit. It’s because they leave no detail unturned.  It takes TIME. Tweaking, artwork, installing and editing scripts, and debugging/testing.  Yes, even if I DO use a template I will still need to do these things. And lest I forget, the 20 emails worth of text (content) I have to filter through, make sense of and add.

If my name is going on something, then it’s not going to end up looking like a website that a 15 year old did (talented though he may be). I’m sorry. Not happening.

Someone pour me a martini. Please……

    OMG I can so relate. I once had a boss that told me he could do some editing faster than i could. I about had it with that job anyway.

    I told him “hope so, because I quit”. I’d reached my boiling point and was going to give notice anyway the following week.
