PMS BLOWS

12 October 2010 16 Comments

Beyond belief.

Doesn’t matter if you are on the receiving end or a victim of it. (For my male friends that visit here.)

From the female side of it………

It’s awful to feel the growing pressure on your body waiting for IT, the visitor, aunt flow, high tide, that time of the month, code red.  It’s like…JUST happen already.

If you’re a guy you just have no clue what this feels like. And whatever is going on in our lives at the current time is exacerbated by 1000%. We can’t help how we are. If we are sad, we become sadder, if we are bothered by a detail, the detail becomes huge. Our views become distorted. We can’t help our mouths or our actions. We are controlled by the hormones that are presently ravaging our bodies and brains.

We don’t want to be this way. We don’t want to feel like an out of control  fast moving vehicle. It just……..happens.

But yet once  company, the gift,  the red head friend, my cousin leaves town and we turn around to view the wreckage, believe me when I say……we feel bad (for the most part).  Once code red has arrived and we are officially on the rag……we deflate. Become delicate.  All is good in the world again.

From the male side of it……..

Take cover.  Move to dry land. Hide.  Because if you don’t…then honestly….it was your own damn fault that we beat you up mercilessly.

And honey? I am sorry about the past couple of days. Turns out you were right. I was PMSing.

This could have been written by my wife. Now let me tell you something, there is a difference between intelligence and wisdom. I’m not a smart man, but I am a wise one. Through trial and error, and I mean lots of error, I have learned how to stay out of the way. As in wayyyy out of the way.

Ditto. My husband today told me that it’s national Menopause awareness day. He nearly lost his life on this one :)

I think I’d rather have just the cramps. The mental up and down is an awful feeling. But then again the grass is always greener on the other side…
