One Question Wednesday

26 August 2009 25 Comments

This is a “what would you” do question.

Last week at football practice there was a woman walking around the perimeter of the field. I was directly behind her and walking onto the field for the 100th time to help the coaches.

dresssheerShe had on a cute dress. A long grey and white striped maxi dress. White tank underneath. Only problem?

When you are directly behind her, you can see through the dress. You can see where her tank top ends and the fact that she CLEARLY has no panties on. (The photo on the left is pretty much the view the world had of her ass, minus the thong. I wish I had a camera at the time.)

So my one question…..

Would you tell a complete stranger that the world can see her ass?

I asked this to some of the other mom’s at the field.  Some of them even went out scouting to find her.  No one had an answer…they just laughed.

What would you have done?

No… I would not have said anything to her… I just can’t do things like that… I would have a good giggle about it, though!

No… I probably would have just laughed as well. Poor thing… you would have hoped that someone (kids? husband?) would have told her before she left the house!

hilarious – i thought that was the actual woman and that you had taken her picture which would have just topped it all! i would have probably done the same – told my girlfriends but not tell her — maybe she was compensating for the front view? ha!

You have no clue how I wished I had my phone or camera handy. I’m such a failure as a blogger!

Oooh I wish I would say something but I would just wonder if she already knows. I know that is disturbing but these days…one never knows. I guess I would want to know, but ALWAYS ask when I am wearing anything if it is see through a million times so I would probably figure it out!

Makes me think of when Sen. Kerry’s daughter showed up at an event & you could see through her dress. Only she didn’t know & it was plastered everywhere after.

I’m not sure if I’d say anything, I wouldn’t know if it was intentional or not. However, knowing that I have a hard time not saying the first thing that pops into my head & I talk WAY TOO LOUD I’d probably say something about to whoever I was with and she’d hear it making everyone uncomfortable.

See, now if I was walking with someone, instead of alone, and saw that, I probably would have talked way too loud and she would have heard me.

Honestly? No I probably wouldn’t. 1) because I’m not that courageous to tell someone I don’t know that 2) Was there really anything she could do about it right then? If not all it would do is cause her embarrassment and anxiety…

One of my thoughts at the time was “what can she do about it now?”

I gotta admit, I too thought you took the picture on your blog and was so very impressed! I never seem to have the right picture for the thing I am writing about. Oh well. I for the record, am a big, fat, nonconfrontational chicken and would never have said anything. Wonder if she liked it that way? I would also think, what is the point of upsetting her since everyone already saw all she had to offer anyway. Thanks for the giggle!

I think she knew it was see-through because she had a white tank on underneath. The tank just wasn’t long enough!!!

oh no! How embarrassing for her! I definitely wouldn’t have said anything to her though!

And I agree with Brittany, before I leave the house in a skirt or dress I always look at myself in all angles of the mirror to make sure that everything is covered up and in its place! :)

no, i don’t think i would. i’m pretty much a talk to strangers type of girl, but that is just a little too personal for my taste. plus, i’m assuming she doesn’t care, because of the tank top. touch spot, though.

    Oh. My. Gawd.

Ok, maybe I wouldn’t have said anything had the event been all women… but a ball game? I’d promptly let her know she was showing her business off to every man and young boy on the grounds and that it was highly inappropriate.

Then, I’d probably usher my family to the opposite side of the park and pray my kids/hubs couldn’t see details from that far away!

Okay, well here’s my opinion….anyone who leaves their house without underwear on is clearly looking to get noticed. I have to believe that she knew that her ass was visible for the world to see. You know us women…we’re always doing a back glance in the mirror to see how our asses look in our clothes.

But wow, that takes nerve to actually walk around a crowded public area like that!!

I like to think I would say something to her, discretely, and in private. But what if that was the look she was going for? now that would make things awkward. Oh wow.
