I am Jewish, so it is in my blood to have these moments. The thing is, once I’ve bored everyone in my family with them, what do I do? I’m not ready to move on yet.

That function I’m running at school? My little prince of a boy wants to create a basket to be raffled off. His will be 1 of 40 (ish) sold that night. I can’t imagine his basket will get many entries, very honestly.
Read: Not only did I have to pay to create the thing, I’ll also have to pay to win it back. (How can I let my little boy keep seeing the cup by his basket have so few tickets in it?. I know he’s going to check.)
The basket? No clue what to even name it:
- A bag of chips ahoy.
- An Xbox cheat code magazine.
- A pack of baseball cards
- A bag of Lime Tortilla Chips
- A jar of his favorite Paul Newman Pineapple salsa
- A can of cheese whiz
- A box of Mallomars (I coaxed him into that one)
- A gift card to McDonalds
- Hot Chocolate mix and two mugs.
- A bag of mini marshmallows
I’m kvelling because I think it’s pretty awesome that he wants to help raise money for a great cause and that he wanted to do this, unprompted.
This brag moment cost a mere…..(cough)…..$75.00
I’m thinking that I’ll ask friends to put some tickets I buy into his collection cup. I’ll fill you in on how much it costs me to buy it back.

I call that basket heaven. Move out of my way! I want those Mallomars!

Once at a cub scout function, we had a cake bake auction. My son wanted his own cake back because he didn’t want to eat anybody else’s (and neither did I). So we spent a fortune buying that dumb thing back!

Yikes! One expensive basket. The name is a toughy. What about “Little Boy’s Weekend?” I can’t remember how much I spent on a Beach Bash basket at a PTO silent auction-but a good cause is worth it, right?

I think it sounds like an awesome basket, and you will get more bids/tickets than you’re expecting!!! As for what to call it … Something about feeding yourself/filling up your stomach? Fuel for the weekend? I don’t know, I’m too tired to be creative!
