I am completely in love with my IPhone. As I’ve mentioned in a previous post, I’m a techie geek.  I’ve been through dozens of phones, including 2 Blackberries and to me, nothing compares to the IPhone.

I recently read about a new application for it called CardStar and HAD to try it out.  It’s a FREE application that takes all of your retailer bonus cards and converts them into scannable bar codes on your phone.

This means…….NO more keychains loaded with peeling and annoying bonus cards! YAY!!!!!!! I can go back to the unbulky, unmommy keychain again.

Here’s how it works:

• Select the + button on the top of the application.
• Select a merchant from the drop-down list. If you do not see the merchant you’d like to add, simply scroll all the way down and select “other”.
• Enter the membership number.
• You can also enter other custom information such as expiration dates or merchant phone numbers.
• Select “done” when the entry is completed.

Now you can simpley pull up that retailers bar code at checkout. No more forgetting to take back your keys from the cashier!  The scan should be taken about 5 inches above the scanner. Also make sure that if there are any spaces in the membership number, that you enter those same spaces into your phone.

My opinion?

For the price of…FREE it’s a terrific application. I’ve used it several times and had no problems with it.  Plus I am loving my “naked” key chain and thinner wallet.
