I’m a Geek
A complete and total techie geek. I research every thing to death and it takes me forever to find the perfect camera, camcorder, laptop, phone, gaming system, car, you name it. Once that is accomplished I have to find it at the best price.
It’s in my blood, I can’t help it. My dad is an engineer and I inherited this disfunction. There is no cure for it that I know of.
My new bug is finding the perfect camcorder. It’s gotta have a hard drive base storage system and it’s gotta be small. I’ll get back to you when I’ve found the perfect one.
Up till now though I have had the cellphone bug. In a big way. You name the phone, I had it. I average about 2 new phones a year. Sometimes it’s because I just wasn’t happy with the phone. Other times it was completely mommy related….
Like the time my son dropped the phone in the toilet. And I’m not using him as a scapegoat….this is totally true. I swear on my awesome NEW phone! Another time it was because the phone stopped taking a charge. Why did it stop? As the support guy from AT&T (formerly Cingular, formerly AT&T, formerly Cellular One) said it is probably because the phone corroded from too much moisture in the bottom of the diaper bag. And other times it was because I’m just downright stupid and careless and lose the phone.
The Motorola V3 was pretty much my favorite until my business got too crazy to be away from reaching my emails while out in the mommy trenches. It’s a great light phone and perfect for the basics. (Though 2 of the 4 I had were phones that I stupidly lost). My dear hubby still uses the one he inherited from me. (How I married such a non-techie geek is beyond me)
My son inherited my LG VU, another really nice phone but still not enough of a smart phone for me. He thinks it’s pretty cool though and he shows great potential for being a geek just like his mom.
I tried the next generation of the LG Vu called the Incite. Next! is the best way to put it. Don’t bother.
I then went over to Blackberryland because people that have one seem to love it. I don’t mean to offend people that love the Blackberry, but I have to say….I did not like that phone at all. I had the Blackberry 8800 series and I really did try to love it. I swear I did. The GPS navigation in it was the best part of the phone, but other than that, there was just no phone chemistry between us. I downloaded applications for it. Got a fun case for it. But it wasn’t happening for me. I hope the person I sold it to on Craigs List likes it though!
I think that for me, it was just too “unfun”. Too serious of a phone. I did not like the keypad or the trackball or the uninteresting display. I didn’t like how bulky it was either.
But I am done with the phone hunt because I love the phone I have now. So much so that I get yelled at for always using it. What is it? The 3G Iphone!!

My Favorite Phone Ever!!
Seriously, this is an awesome phone. Easy to use, FUN to use, and the applications you can download for it are great! I have 3 recipe applications, 3 store coupon applications, games for my son, all my great music, a flight tracker so I can tell if “daddy” will make it home in time for dinner, my stocks, weather, ebay, facebook, twitter, a feed reader…on and on. And most of the applications were free. Except for the flight tracker one, because honestly if he’s going to be late for dinner, take-out works just fine for me.
If you have a favorite application, I’d love to hear it!
So now onto finding the perfect HD Camcorder…..

I love my iphone! My favorite application is “ShopShop”. Allows you to keep a shopping list. I don’t know what I did before I got this phone!
The Sony version of the HD camcorder is a great one. That’s the one I have.
