I Can Predict the Future

Tomorrow my son will wake up and tell me he isn’t feeling well. He will tell me that he doesn’t think he should go to school.
The one thing I can’t seem to decide on, is what his ailment will be.
Will it be:
- His ankle? Because tonight as we walked out of basketball practice he suddenly started limping and yelling “ouch”. Funny though that he ran around just fine during practice. And even funnier that he has randomly been limping for the past few hours since.
- His stomach? Again, he was fine during practice. When we got home he kept running (occasionally limping) to the bathroom.
I checked his school planner and I don’t see that any paper is due. There are no tests scheduled either.
Perplexing.

Isn’t that the darndest thing? The “ailments” in my house every morning could fill a medical journal.

Turned out to be a delayed opening for school that day. And the stomach ache/ailing ankle issue vanished. GO figure!

That is a mystery. Maybe it has something to do with a bully, or a cute girl??
P.S. Did you ever have blogger or always WP? Do you have a free WP site, or do you self host? Do you love WP?

I set up a blogger account but never used it, so I guess I have really always been a wordpress girl. I selt host wordpress and yes, I love it. It’s very flexible and has a ton of options to offer. Remember though I have no real history with blogger, so I might not be the best person to ask in comparing the two…..

Ha! My son used to do the same thing. Not as creative though. The ankle ailment was a good one. My son was more of a stomachache man. I’m betting on the ankle in the a.m.

Must be something in the air…last night, my daughter told me, “Mommy, I think I’m gonna have a stomach ache tomorrow so I won’t be able to go to school”. That’s pretty creative for a 5-year old…I mean, what could be so horrible about kindergarten that she’d fake a tummy ache??

Been there! Remember the old Shel Silverstein poem, Peggy Ann McKay (not sure if I spelled this correctly). I often recite this poem to my kids!

My son does this sort of thing too. But he just says, “I don’t think I’ll be able to got to school tomorrow” without even citing a reason. He’s 6, so he’s still refining his approach.

Ah yes. We are familiar with the sudden onset of illness here too. As well as the sudden miraculous recovery, too.
Especially when dessert is involved.
[Reply]
Oh no! Intermittent limping can be serious especially if the limping switches sides on occasion.

Hello there,
Sounds like this mama has everything under control. Now maybe you can tell me how I’m gonna feel tomorrow

So??? What was it? Sometimes this is a sign of something else, like a bully or personality conflict with teacher or difficulty in a subject. I hope it is none of those things.
