Huh?
Written at 5:15 PM:
My husband travels a lot for work and when his trip falls over the course of a weekend, I like to do something out of the ordinary and fun with my son. I contemplated taking him to Point Pleasant for one of the days, but the weather just doesn’t seem like it will be hot enough.
Next idea…
I keep wanting to take him to a Yankee’s game without having to glom onto one of my vendors for a favor. I wanted to take him last year while the old stadium was still around, but the cost of tickets is crazy! So today I hunted through every website there is and found a pretty good pair that weren’t equal to a month’s mortgage (or up in the clouds). Or behind a pole.
I’m not going to tell my son about it. Come Sunday I will lay out his Derek Jeter jersey (I still pick his clothing out for him because orange shorts and a red tee just don’t quite cut it.) I will tell him we are going on a surprise adventure and head over to the NEW Yankee Stadium.
I can NOT wait to see the look on his face when we pull up to the stadium. I’m so excited.

F**K!!
So get this one…On the way to football practice I talk to my son about the upcoming weekend. We have “this” on Friday night. “That” plus “the other that” on Saturday. He chimes in with ”And a scrimmage on Sunday”.
Huh?
What immediately came to mind? (Click the grey arrow below.)

Oh NO! Scrimmage… or baseball game?!

I am thinking that I will still take him. It’s rough, there is football almost all weekend once the season begins. This is just a pre-season scrimmage. I will see the coach on Saturday morning and I’ll talk to him about my dilemma. What esle can I do?

I would definitely still take him. Scrimmage versus AWESOME memory of something mom did! That is huge!
p.s. what plugin / code did you use for your auto comment replies? I love that when you comment back I get an email and would love to have this too! Thanks!

Take him anyway! Tell the coach how much you went through to surprise him. put that trombone thingy on your phone and use it to elaborate on ur story. if u make him laugh, he may soften up and give in to the missed scrimmage!

i loved the trombone!
