Hello, I Am a Diary Blog

24 October 2009 21 Comments

helloMy dad came by this morning. Grabbed my son and whisked him away to a few stores. A complete surprise and I’m taking advantage of the first peaceful morning I’ve had in a long me. My house so quiet except for the sound of my husband cleaning the oven.  (Yes, you read this correctly, he’s SCRUBBING it too!) I am immersing myself in in the joy of this unheard of peace and writing.

Whenever you venture into something new in life: a school, a job, marriage, motherhood, whatever……it always feels like it takes awhile to get settled in and comfortable. Not only within a group of people, but within yourself.  To a point where you feel that you can be you. The good, the bad.

I am a dreamer and a complete optimist.  I really do believe that you can do anything you set your mind to.  I believe that “we” are our own worst enemies.  I believe that in any bad situation, it is possible to always find a glimmer of hope and direction. I believe that if you don’t give yourself something to smile about or laugh about each day, you are missing out on your own life.  I believe that if you don’t let yourself learn to be vulnerable with good friends/family, you will always be alone.

I believe that if you are feeling down about yourself or feeling “hopeless”,  it’s the equivalent of living with a dark cloud hanging right over your head.

  1. You can wait for the weather to change or the wind to blow it away. But you risk living under it for a very long time.  You’re essentially living as a victim.
  2. You can get off your ass and push that cloud away or get up and walk away from it.  And you can be proud of yourself for taking charge of things.

shoulda_woulda_coulda_tshirt-p2356575443965792013smz_400I cringe at hearing the words:  Should have, would have, could have, didn’t think of it, was supposed to, wanted to and the worst of them all, TRY. (Or any conjugation of the word try.)  You get one shot at life and I will pass on self- inflicted regrets, thank you very much.

I’m not a good recipe blog, I’m not a giveaway blog, I’m not a green blog, nor a health blog, nor a social blog, nor a money making blog, nor a money saving blog.

I’m a diary blog.

My diary is finally broken in and I love it.  I look forward to writing in it and I’m so glad to be able to re-read as often as I want. I could not be happier to have  friends that will come visit me here and “talk” to me. There is nothing better than friends to clear heads with, share with. And nothing worse than talking to your self.

I keep sane here and I have you all to thank for it.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

I should own that tee shirt. I must say “coulda, woulda, shoulda” several times a week.

And thanks for stopping by here too!

I often end up categorizing myself as a mommy blog, because I’m a mom and talk a lot about my kid and being a mom, but I tend to feel like my blog takes the place of my various journals, so I am sometimes a diary blog, too! Thanks for the perfect wording! And for sharing your diary with me. ;)

Thanks Maven! And the oven cleaning is a major bonus. I’m not sure what’s up with my husband, but he announced he’s going to do the same to the fridge tomorrow. Who am I to turn that down?

I agree with everything you wrote! I always consider myself a hopeless romantic – romantic about life and it’s possibilities.

I like to write about anything and everything that comes to my mind, and it’s all for me. I like it when others can relate and appreciate my posts with an open mind.
