Fibber, Fibber, Fibber

Apparently, tooth fairies have really come a long way since I was younger. Who knew I could have written a note asking for something other than the silver dollars I used to get?

toothfiary

I’ll translate this crayon written note for you: He asked for a Nintendo DSI or………$100.00.

And here I was thinking that the Tooth Fairy was pretty generous in leaving him $10.00 for his first molar. Seriously, who does he think the Tooth Fairy is? Santa?

I did feel badly that he was let down, but his request was pretty insane. The funny part is that afterwards (that is, after I explained that the tooth fairy covering our house is cheap.) I asked him which of his friends had gotten that big a gift for losing a tooth.  He mentioned some boy’s name that I had never heard before.

Hmmm.

Because I’m smarter than the average 9 year old and can smell a fib a mile away, I asked him for the friend’s last name so that I could call his mom and find out HOW they had gotten such a great tooth fairy. His reply to me:

You can’t call her. They moved and I don’t know where they moved to”.

Alrighty. (Fibber)

I love it! That is quite the fancy tooth fairy! I think we are going to need to start at a nickel or a quarter so we have somewhere to go besides $100! He’s no dummy though!

I am here cracking up because the tooth fairy is expected to visit our house tonight. We’ve explained how the tooth fairy leaves different amounts based on how clean the tooth is, effort put into the letter, and the number of teeth collected from all children that night.

As of now, an hour before bedtime, the tooth is scrubbed but I have yet to see my little boy write his letter! too bad, so sad!

I’m pretty cheap here. But what’s even worse is that I’m lazier than I am cheap…soooo..since I didn’t have a $5 or a single. Giving ten beat getting in the car to break the ten.

that’s too funny…times sure have changed haven’t they?!

I think one year my mom gave me a button…must of been doing it in the dark, thought she pulled out a quarter and gave me a gosh darn button….that’s about as bad as the time she forgot my birthday, and when she found me in the dark crying after my day had come and gone, she said, i didn’t forget your birthday silly…hold on, i have your present down stairs…so she runs downstairs, and then back up…and gives me a pack of unwrapped old maid cards. (obviously something she had stashed away in her closet for an emergency gift situation)…but talk about disappointing! OLD MAID CARDS!

Next tooth, give him a deck of cards! He’ll be scared for life! ;)

I once lost a tooth at my grandparents’ house and my mom helped me hang up a sign to let the tooth fairy know I was there because I was so afraid she wouldn’t find me. Make no mistake about it, the tooth fairy is a big deal!
