The kitchen was painted the green I had talked about in This Post. And of course I’m not loving it very much. Figures, right?- The girlfriend I dissed in This Post is talking to me again. I groveled and made a date with her to grab a coffee tomorrow. All better now and thank for all of your advice on it.
- My son’s football team lost in the semi finals. As much as I would have liked him to win the finals, I’m secretly glad the SEASON IS OVER! No more daily practices consuming 5 out of 7 days here. Ahhhhhhhhhh
- Funnel cakes are so easy to make and that’s a bad thing. I think I’ve gained 5 pounds from making them 3 times with my son, since Friday night. Not good.
- I have been a very bad blog follower the past week. I hang my head in shame to all of you.
- I’m sick of the hairstyle I have now. I’m so tempted to chop it all off and go short again. I need to stay away from the hair salon until I’m more rational about this one.
- Kate & 8 Plus Jon or Jon & Kate & Date Plus 8, or whatever they call that stupid show is having their season finale tonight. As ridiculous as that show is……..I’ll be watching it. I’m thinking I’m not alone on this one.
- I watched the American Music Awards last night. Don’t get me wrong, I think Jennifer Lopez has had some great songs, but I think she’s past her prime at this point. I feel that way about Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Whitney Houston and Brittany Spears too, but maybe this just means I am OLD and out of touch. ‘Cause i don’t get the Adam Lambert thing either.
- Why is it that since I started blogging (July) I hear or read about Nutella almost daily. There was even a commercial on TV last night too. Kudos to the Nutella marketing team on product awareness, however I will not be buying it. The last thing I need is another fattening food addiction.
- To whoever it was that pulled out of the parking spot next to me at A&P, hit my car and took off without leaving at least a note: No worries about me having to layout a $500 deductible this time of year for the giant scrapes, busted tail light and dented bumper. Hope you sleep well tonight and have the happiest of holidays.
And Happy Monday to YOU!

Nancy, you weren’t at the Hobby Lobby in Lima, Ohio were you….while i was there, someone hit someone’s car and they were announcing on the loud speakers to come to the parking lot and wait for the police.
Ok, so it probably wasn’t you….but I remember feeling terrible for the poor person who’s license plate had been being paged over the loud speakers.
and i’m sorry it happened to you too! Some people are just inconsiderate….just like those people who trample people to death over a $100 toy at walmart….i don’t know why, but there are just people like that in the world. and every once in awhile, they come in contact with the rest of us…..when they hit our cars and drive off….throw trash into our yards…cut in line at the movies…hit you in the ankle with their shopping cart, only to look at you like it’s your fault for not moving faster! *shrugs*
the only thing that really gives me peace, is #1-I’m not ONE of them. and #2 – what goes around comes around….and I won’t be around them when it comes around to them.
Now make me a funnel cake, and lets discuss this further!

That sucks about the car, but I am a firm believer in Karma. About your kitchen walls, there’s always the “live with it and see,” theory. If you can ingest food without gagging, that’s a start. The nice thing about paint. You can always get rid of it.
Btw, microblogging and writing is exhausting. That’s why I took a break a while back.
Glad you and your friend are meeting for coffee.
It’s funny you mentioned hair. I’ve been working on a piece about a recent haircut I had. I plan on posting it in the next day or two.

So sorry about the car. We had to fix two cars in the last month which completely ate up my Christmas stash so I completely feel your pain.
I think look at the paint like your hair — give it time until you are sure. But remember the great thing about paint is that you can always paint over it.
Really enjoy your blog. Have a great Thanksgiving.

i want to know what’s up with nutella, too. i’d never even heard of it before i started blogging.
sucks about your car.
i hate my hair, too.
i didn’t watch the ama’s last night and i have never watched jon & kate…but now that you mentioned it, it sounds like a good watch tonight.
i’m glad football is over, too.
i feel better now…cleansed. glad you’re back!

That just sucks about your car but I wonder if I would be more upset about the weight gain?

Nancy, I love that you wrote about the Nutella thing. I was just thinking about that yesterday. Suddenly, this product that was always on the fringe is front and center. My guess is with all the peonut allergies they figure they have a shot at competing with peanut butter?

Happy Monday to you, too! I don’t get Adam Lambert, either… glad you’re hooking up with your friend!

#9 I agree with you, it’s the reason I’ve never tried it tho I am sure I would like it.
#10 that is horrible. I’m praying someone saw it happened and got the license plate #. Did you ask around any nearby shops? Something like this happened to my husband, he asked around at the nearby stores and turned out the manager of a liquor store saw it happened and saw that it was one of his normal customers, knew his name and everything.
p.s. I agree with existential waitress about karma, that thought keeps me from getting an ulcer…what goes around comes around to people like that.

Sorry Nancy…didn’t know it was you….I’ll send you my insurance info tomorrow

Happy Monday! did not get the Adam Lambert thing either. You are right, Jennifer Lopez needs to concentrate on her kids rather than her dance moves. Sorry to hear about your car!! there are some butt holes out there who just have no integrity!
Lets hope the rest of your week shines!

I’m glad things are better between you and your friend, but the car now? My scrape in our grocery parking lot wasn’t as bad as yours, but it has made me park in La La land just to keep away from the busy shoppers…

The only thing saving me from funnel cake is that you have to fry them. I hate to fry and almost never do it because of the mess. Otherwise I’d be all over that. Funnel Cakes are yummy.

Bummer about the car. Been there and it sucks!
So how was the Jon and Kate finale? Never watched the show, but damn I was curious.

I missed the finale and I had counted on watching it. I don’t know why because I’m so over them but I still wanted to watch.
I’m glad you fixed things with your friend, but I’m so sorry about the car! It was probably a teenager!

Nutella is the new bacon is all I can figure. I’ve never tried it, and I don’t think it would be a good idea to discover that I did like chocolate sandwiches, so I don’t think I’m ever going to, either.

Maybe highlighting your hair or something less drastic will get you out of the hump? Hack, try this Bump It thingy. Or go to the mall and find one of those stalls in the middle of the aisle that sells clip-on hair extensions. But if you do cut your hair, just remember, hair grows up eventually. But crowfeet is forever. Or just ignore the last part. sorry. Now, #10, I am very sorry that this happened to you. You are much classier than I am. I will curse that guy with foul languages on your behalf then. $#&^6$&$@ Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

I’m glad to hear you smoothed things out with the friend.
I think you should leave the kitchen for the time being and let it grow on you like a fungus.

I’m always in that quandary…sad that the team didn’t go on to win the championship, doing the happy dance that my obligation to the team is OVER. At least for another year.
I wondered why Jon stayed with Katie about two years ago when I first watched it. And I only watched two in a row to fall asleep in a strange hotel room.
