Apple’s New IPad: Questions

Being the tech geek that I am, I am all over this new IPad thing.  The name, sucks. Or at least it does to the females of this universe. Clearly men were in charge of titling this item.

I can’t help but wonder if the IPad will evolve into the IMaxiPad and the IMiniPad. Really, as long as Apple has ‘gone there’, they may as well own it and keep on going.  I am all good with leaving the ITampon thing alone though.

I’m not sure where it would fit into my life very honestly. I have the IPhone. I have a laptop and a desktop. After digging for a place where it would be useful, I came up with the kitchen as a recipe finder/reader. Prop it up on an easel and it’s just the right size for a counter top. No more destroyed pages in my cook books from flying ingredients.

What I know I won’t use it for is reading in general. The beach and a hot bath are the two places I do the majority of my reading. I don’t see water and sand being a friend to this thing. And snuggling up in bed with 10″ just seems painful, no matter what it is.  I like my….books….a little smaller and easier to handle.

It could just be that the IPad is one of those things you didn’t know you needed until you actually start using it. Starting at $499, which is where the IPhone originally started at, is pretty smart on Apple’s part. It’s not quite out of reach for most consumers.

My questions:

  • Will it come with an ISafety Belt to prevent slippage and falling?
  • Will they develop an ISplash Guard or IWings to prevent moisture from ruining it?
  • Will it only come in white or wil red be an option down the road?
  • Will it have a retractable cord? If OB can find a way to hide the strings, Apple should be able to also? (Okay, I went there.)

Just wondering.
