All I Want for Xmas

My neighbors, lovely people that they are……are lazy.

A few years ago they put a wood fence around their yard, but time isn’t treating it that well. Actually, their dog (Niki) isn’t treating it well.  Over the course of time Niki has chewed/scratched away a section of the fence so that he could poke his nose through/be a peeping Tom into our yard. 

Poor pooch really worked hard on this project, but I had to rat him out a few months ago. The hole he made was now large enough for our new dog to fit through.  The neighbors didn’t seem to really care so I “rigged” it by leaning a wide piece of wood over the ever-growing peephole. Clearly though, it wasn’t enough to stop a curious Niki.

This morning I let our pup out and noticed he would not stop barking at the fence. I went outside to see what was going on, only to find Niki’s head stuck in the fence.  His head is completely on our side, while the rest of him is still on his owners property.

Needless to say, they fixed the fence today.

Now, stupid me didn’t take a photo of it and when I went looking for a picture of a dog’s head stuck in a fence, I came across this one:

And of course, I think this is funny. I printed it and put a copy in my neighbor’s mailbox.  On the top of it, I wrote “All I Want for Christmas” and I signed it “Love, Niki”. I’m hoping they find the humor in it too.

Obviously you wouldn’t have done it if you didn’t think they’d find it funny. And I think humour is a great way to deal with a situation honestly.
