A Few of My Favorite (WordPress) Things
I get quite a few emails and comments asking which plug ins were used in various sections of this blog. I don’t profess to be a “pro” at WordPress, but having a design and code history is a big help. So I thought I’d share some of my favorite WordPress things with you………..
1. The WordPress Phone Application: If you have the Iphone or a Blackberry, there are apps available for download. These applications allow you to edit your posts/pages, write new posts, add pictures right from your phone’s gallery and moderate your comments. I mainly use it for the comment feature. It’s an easy to use application. Definite must have to me.
2. WordPress Thread Comment: The best part of this plug in is the ability to have an automated email sent out when you (or anyone) directly replies to a reader’s comment. I know I will make a comment on someone’s site but I never know if there was a reply to it. Who has the time to check every comment you’ve ever made? I don’t like subscribing to comments, because I don’t want that flood of emails. Dead end conversations. You can customize it’s layout with just a little bit of html knowledge, however it’s very usable and attractive right out of the box.
3. CommentLuv: By installing this application, each comment made will pull up that person’s most recent blog post. I don’t know why more bloggers don’t use this. Why not reward your readers for commenting in your posts? Perhaps bloggers believe it is a bad idea to send people to other blogs. Not the case at all. It’s a way of allowing readers to discover that some very interesting and creative people visit your blog. Trust me, if they like your blog, they will be back. Quit being so greedy…..spread the luv!
I shared three of my favorites with you today. I have plenty more and will keep on sharing them with you.
Have a WordPress question? Just post a comment here and I’ll help you out as best I can!

I always wondered how you managed to be so good as to reply to the comments we leave on your posts – now I know! On the go! #2 and #3 are really nice features of your blog too.
Thanks for sharing!

Hope this helps.

I have to admit I love these plugins as well
I’m also a fan of Twitter tools. You can tweet from your blog, AND every time you publish a new post, it automatically posts a Tweet with a tiny URL to your post

I wish comment luv worked in blogger using blogger comments. I’m not a fan of JS-Kits so I can’t use it. Great tips today!
